The New York Times writes that Iraqi documents posted on the web by the US government brought Iran closer to achieving its nuclear ambitions. In what appears to be an attempt to create an election weekend spoiler, The New York Times divulges that Saddam Hussein was very close to creating a nuclear bomb. LGF posted the following excerpt from the article:
"Among the dozens of documents in English were Iraqi reports written in the 1990s and in 2002 for United Nations inspectors in charge of making sure Iraq had abandoned its unconventional arms programs after the Persian Gulf war. Experts say that at the time, Mr. Hussein’s scientists were on the verge of building an atom bomb, as little as a year away."
Does an atomic bomb count as a weapon of mass destruction? If Iran was able to learn from Saddam's information then does that mean Saddam had a more advanced nuclear program than Iran? Does this mean that Saddam actually had an ongoing WMD Program? Does this mean that Bush did not lie? Does this mean that the war in Iraq is justifiable? Where does this line of questioning end? Will we now hear the moonbats screaming "Bush was right, We needed to Fight!"?
